B-Vitamins Boost Resistance
A few weeks ago, I received news that my father has taken ill. I wanted to go and visit right there and then, but having to traverse 6,000 kilometers to get to where he is required a bit more planning and coordination. And so in a few days, I’m off, to see him, and also to help see him through his second round of chemotherapy.
He’s currently undergoing chemotherapy, and though we have given our trust completely to his doctors, we remain pro-active in his treatment. We scan the web for information and other tidbits. And, possibly the best we can do as family members, is to support his health through nutrition. His immune system definitely needs some help, considering the chemotherapy regimen. No, I am not going to pinpoint specific functional food and supplements available in the market. But I know that a well-balanced diet, rich in B-vitamins and minerals has never been more important.
If you have cancer,or taking care of someone who has, have a look at CancerNutrition, by Carolyn Katzin, a certified nutritionist and the Wellness Community’s page on Nutrition and Chemotherapy. You might also find inspiration from the book, One Bite at a Time: Nourishing Recipes for People With Cancer, Survivors, and Their Caregivers.

Hello Ruth. I’m very sorry to hear about your father. It’s never good when a parent is sick especially at an old age. Vitamin B is very important to a healthy lifestyle. It’s great that nowadays, you can get Vitamin B almost anywhere. I get it in a health supplement I take called Eniva Vibe by Eniva . Well those are my blogs so read up on it if you want. Good luck and good health!
